why actress Reese never get to wear black

IT may be the colour of choice on the front row at fashion week, but black is not a colour you'll see Reese Witherspoon wearing. The American actress has revealed that her Southern roots make it impossible for her to embrace the colour - and she certainly won't be making it the mainstay of her own Draper James collection - although matchy-matchy dressing is allowed.

"Matching items, like matching your shoes to you handbag, is not a bad thing in the South," she told The Wall Street Journal. "It's a return to pretty clothes. We also do a lot with bright colours and patterns. We don't do black. Our black is navy. People wear black to funerals. I didn't wear black at all when I was young and was only allowed to buy my first pair of black pants when I was 15."
And it's not just colour choices that are dictated by her Louisiana upbringing - there are certain sartorial commandments that must be obeyed, and they don't leave much room for sloppiness.
"There are rules of dressing," she said. "You put your clothes and face on like a suit of armour to start the day. You're always dressed before 10am. We dress to sit on airplanes and to sit at the theatre. Nobody wears sweatpants to go to dinner."
